Sites on The Grid are built post-by-post. Essentially, the AI will take your collection of posts and use them to design a great looking site. There are a few different ways to create the posts that will be the building blocks of your site. Let's have a look at how to create posts for your site.
To start, head to your Dashboard and click the + icon as shown below:
This will open up 3 methods to create a post.
Paste URL here: This feature will allow you to share content from the web to your site. A post created this way will display a nice preview of the shared content on your site. Also, you can paste the URL video or audio from platforms like Youtube, Soundcloud, Vimeo and more to embed the media to your site. This will allow you to share your music and videos right on your Gridsite.
Click to upload: This feature is for uploading your images and photos. When this icon is clicked, you'll be prompted to select your image to upload. Then, the images will be uploaded into the post editor so that you can create, edit, and publish a post with your image. Please note that this feature is for image files only. Other file types like PDF, video, and audio should use the Paste URL feature above.
Write something: The method will open the post editor for you to begin writing content for your post. This gives you a blank slate for your post. Inside the post editor, you can use the tools to write, upload images, share URLs and even embed HTML for iframes for your post.
Once you're finished creating a post, the preview of the post will appear in your Unpublished tab. From there, you can click on the preview to open and edit the post, or you can publish it to your site. To see post creation and publishing in action, check out our guide to making your first site.
